Perhaps: The problem may be from post-nasal drips and/or reflux in your situation. Be sure that you take your ppi before breakfast instead of bedtime and avoid eating and drinking 3 hrs before bedtime for your reflux to see if this helps. If not, see your doctor to find out if you have an allergic problem as well since your symptoms may also be triggered by exposure to house dust mites in your mattress.

Probably reflux: Your symptoms do not suggest allergy. If you sleep rather flat, acid can come up the esophagus and cause either irritation of the throat or of the lining of the esophagus. Raise your head with either 8" blocks under the bed or a medical wedge that you can place under y our mattress. Also, no food or drink for 2 hours before bedtime. No help, see your physician first.
