It's understandable: Asthma attacks are often anxiety provoking - they also are exacerbated by anxiety so it can become a vicious cycle. Breathing is crucial. Being deprived of easy breath terrifies most - that's why water-boarding is seen by some as torture. Hopefully your dr can help you get the asthma under control. You may also benefit from learning breath patterns that help fight both the attack and anxiety. Best.

Yes: Cold and dry air often triggers asthma and in fact is one of the ways we try to establish whether a patient has asthma or not (by provoking him with dry and cold air). You need to talk to your doctor regarding upping you controller drug dose until the spell is over. In the meanwhile, try to stay indoors as much as possible.
