Your skin ages...: ...As a result of many factors, but the most important one is sun exposure. If you accumulate a normal amount of sun exposure your skin will age normally. If you protect your facial skin from the sun, with hats and broad-spectrum sunscreen lotion, it will age less rapidly. Your reconstruction surgeries should not be a significant factor.

Aging: Research shows that there are, in fact, two distinct types of aging. Aging caused by the genes we inherit is called intrinsic (internal) aging. The other type of aging is known as extrinsic (external) aging and is caused by environmental factors, such as exposure to the sun’s rays. You can control extrinsic by avoiding sun damage. But you can not control intrinsic aging which is genetic.
