Radiographic finding: Cervical spondylosis is a very general term referring to arthritic degeneration of the cervical spine. Many people have this type of degeneration with no symptoms and therefore this diagnosis by itself would have no restrictions. Sometimes degeneration is severe enough to cause impingement of the nerve roots or spinal cord, which might require treatment, work restrictions, etc.

Varies: It varies somewhat based on the severity of the rafiographic findings and also the symptoms. That being said, patients with chronic neck pain from cervical spondylitis usually tolerate jobs better that they can do with their neck in a relatively neutral position as opposed to one in which repetitive flexion/extension or rotation is required.
