A member asked:

What is the normal pcv for pregnant women?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

~30-40%: If by pcv you are referring to the hematocrit (hct), which is the ratio of the volume of red blood cells to the total volume of blood, the normal hct in the non-pregnant adult is ~35-45%. Pregnant women have extra fluid, which dilutes the blood, decreasing the normal hematocrit range to ~30-40% and even slightly lower in the third trimester.
