Surgery: The first right thing to do is speak to your surgeon for appropriate guidance. None of us know what the procedure was but clearly bone cutting was involved. It would be inappropriate to give guidance not knowing the procedure as well as not seeing your x rays.

Crutches...: I generally don't have my patients use crutches at all after bunion surgery, but each surgeon has a different post-op protocol. Ask your surgeon, but at six weeks post-op, most patients no longer need to use crutches.
