Migraine variations: There are a number of migraine like headaches that may cause problems like yours. The phenomenon of "ice pick headaches" is not uncommon, and another variation, paroxysmal hemicrania may explain your events. None of this is associated with brain tumors or structural abnormalities, and typically can be well treated and controlled. See your doctor.
