A member asked:

Fingertips feel like pins and needles like a splinter but i have no idea why. if you push down on where it hurts it feels like a knot. what is that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: If there is a lump in the fleshy part of the fingertip, and it's not the bone, then there is something else there, which could be a reaction to a small splinter. A primary doctor (pediatrician, internist, family doctor) can examine to see what it might be. If needed, a referral to the hand surgeon can be done. If persistent pins and needles are the main symptom, a neurologist referral can help.
