Eczema or fungus: Ringworm is a fungal condition characterised by itchy, red, scaly, inflamed circles that spread outwards leaving pale skin in the center. The appearance is not unlike the healing lesion of nummular (discoid) eczema.Nummular eczema features stubborn red, inflamed, scaly coin shaped lesions which in the recovery phase heal from the inside out leaving reddened rings with a pale center.

Possibly: Ring worm is a fungal infection which starts off as a small spot which slowly gets bigger over time. As it grows, you often get a red scaly outer ring with clearing of the middle. It can itch as well. If it is small, you could try an over the counter anti-fungal medication. If it continues or worsens, i would suggest being seen.
