Bursitis/tendinitis: Can't be sure what you have because no info on duration, history of trauma? But being 35, shoulder bursitis or tendinitis from/by minor trauma (pitching baseball, swinging golf-club, or even laying on it 2 long, is likely the cause of your pain. Do gentle range of motion exercises and stretching, and use of aleve/motrin for a wk or two. If not better, consult doc to have it checked out. Good luck.

Luggage or sports?: Did you recently pull luggage or play some sport? Did you carry something heavy or sleep on the shoulder in an unusual way? The pain you describe sounds like you stretched some ligament or tendon in your shoulder. Try to not use the shoulder or limit motion for a couple of weeks and you should be fine. If not, see an orthopedist or chiropractor.
