A few choices: Toenail fungus, or onychomycosis is a very frustrating problem to treat. There are two main treatments. Pen-lac is a nail polish that you can put on each toenail daily it works ok and is better for milder cases. Lamisil pills (terbinafine) works better and is now generic so is only $4 on the walmart generic plan. You take the pills for 3 months but needs blood tests and md supervision

Oral antifungal: The best solution is an oral antifungal tablet, of which there are several; all require a prescription. There are intermittent treatment regimens which decrease or remove the need for blood testing. Topical antifungal creams and nail lacquers are completely ineffective against nail fungus infections; I have never seen them work even once, in over 30 years of practice.
