Possible endometrium: This may represent a cluster of retained endometrium that has successfully transplanted to you subcutaneous tissue. Can grow and become painful and bleed. Changes often relate to the menstrual cycle. Could also be a hernia but the lateral location and bleeding and sense of lack of alarm don't make me think this is the case as a bleeding hernia would be painful and you would be seeking the er.
