Treat the cause.: Back pain requiring pain killers needs evaluation. May be caused by strained muscles, herniated disc, rupturing aneurysm, kidney stones, kidney cancer, kidney infections, shingles, and other possibilities. You need to have a medical evaluation. Pain pills are not the answer, must find the cause of the pain, and then treat the cause not the symptoms, pain. Avoid opiates due to addiction risk.
