Food: Nope. Not on it's own. Weight gain comes from too many calories. Rice, is a combination of proteins and carbohydrate calories. One, who is trying to lose weight or fight obesity, must limit their carbohydrate calories. Thus many people want to blame rice, but if the carbohydrates are being monitored and limited in general then rice can fit into a diet just fine.
