Narcotic: Levorphanol is a narcotic like morphine but 4-8 times more potent and lasts longer than morphine.Its half life is 11-16 hours and has addiction/ dependency potential like other narcotics. It is generally used for severe chronic pain or neuropathic pain that has not been relieved by other more common narcotic analgesics.
