Help docs! i'm trying to find out what causes an obstruction of the intestine?

Hernia, scar tissue: The two most common causes are hernias and scar tissue. A hernia is a defect in the abdominal cavity. The intestine gets stuck in this defect, causing a blockage. If it stays too long, this portion of the intestine can die. Similarly, scars in the abdomen, usually from previous surgery, can result in a blockage when the intestine gets tangles around the scar tissue. Other causes are less likely.
