A member asked:

I'm worried that this little kitty could have given me toxoplasmosis, but i'm not pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnant Moms only: Toxoplasmosis generally causes no harm to non-pregnant females, only to pregnant moms to be and fetus'. It is transmitted to humans through emptying the litter box, which we ask pregnant moms to avoid. A blood test called a torch titer can identify antibodies/infection in pregnant moms.
