Vp shunt tube protruding from abdomen, please help?

See your doctor: If the shunt is protruding out of the abdomen and you can see it, you need to have it addressed by your neurosurgeon right away. If you are saying that you can see the shunt tubing under the skin traveling from the head down to the abdomen, that is normal. It looks like a ridge that travels beneath the skin. Two very different scenarios. If in doubt have it examined by your neurosurgeon.

Probably ok: If you are not feeling sick, it is likely ok. In some folks, especially thin ones, the tubing might be visible as a ridge under the skin. If concerned, have your doc check it.
