Elephantiasis: Parasites such as micro filariae, clog up the lymphatic vessels, leading to the accumulation of fluids in the lower extremity. An example of a negative consequence of this accumulation is a condition called "elephantiasis". In other situations, the fluid backs up into the scrotum leading to massive scrotal swelling.
