What treatments can be done for chronic back/hip pain from severe stenosis of the spine?

Epidural ink: The first thing to try is an epidural injection of corticosteroid . If that is not effective or if you develop weakness in the legs or loss of sphincter control, then surgical intervention will be needed.

Number of treatments: You can try multiple things. First, speak to a person with spine experience to make sure the cord or nerves are not threatened (depending on what levels are stenosed). As long as there is no threat of progression, start with physical therapy and core strengthening (under physician supervision). Then, whatever helps you, helps. From acupuncture to epidural steroid injections, many things can help.
