How do most burns in children get treated?

Cool soaks, TLC: Gently wash the burned skin area daily to help remove dead skin. Many doctors prescribe silver sulfadiazine cream, but it isn't necessary unless the burn becomes infected; if that happens, call your doctor. If it's a sunburn, don't let it happen again - apply a good broad-spectrum sunscreen lotion to your children's exposed skin whenever they go out in the sun.
