No Tanss!: There is no such thing as a healthy tan - unless you are born with it. Sunburns and tans are thought of as damaging to dna - damaging dna can lead to uncontrolled cell growth leading to precancers and skin cancers - besides making your skin look aged. Play it safe, embrace your natural skin's beauty and wear a broad spectrum sunscreen, spf 30 or greater and re-apply liberally.

Time: Your tan will go away with time as long as you limit your exposure to UV radiation. Increased exposure to UV radiation does increase your risk of developing skin cancers. Remember to wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Cover up as much as possible. And see your dermatologist once a year for a skin cancer screening.
