Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and pregnanc: Most frustrating thing that i find in attempting to answer this question for my patients is the extreme lack of evidence in the literature. This is particularly appalling for Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) which has been around for a long time. The rodent literature is quite ambiguous and it is questionable whether it applies to humans. The doses given to mice were six times the standard human dose. Fortunately in those patients who because of the severity of their illness and the need to continue working and functioning around the home stayed on adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) I have not run into any problems. You need to have this discussion with your gynecologist and with your psychiatrist. You will have to weigh the risks of not being on medication with the risks of being on medication.Unfortunately it is impossible to quantify those risks or come up with a true risk benefit ratio. Whatever decision you make, i hope you have ahappy and healthy baby.
