See below: You have progressive kidney damage even if you have one kidney, the function is low. Find out cause of the damage if possible and to look for any reversible causes besides blood pressure control, other metabolic studies regarding bone health, and blood count need to be done.

Kidney disease: At 26% of your kidney function left, you have stage 4 chronic kidney disease. You need to be under the care of nephrologist (n) to get the best care. At your level of renal function you may have problems with anemia of chronic kidney disease and could benefit from drugs to increase your hemoglobin level. You may also have some elevated levels of phosphorus and parathyroid hormone. See a n for aid.

Solitary kidney: Your single kidney is 50 percent impaired. So it is at risk to lose more function. YourBP must be 120-130/70-78 all the time. Eat a strict diet of low salt, low saturated fat, low phosphate, low potassium, foods. Be modest with animal protein - only 4 oz per day maximum. See a dietitian. Precisely diet should be 2000 mg sodium, 2000mg potassium, 800 mg phosphate, 50 gram protein.
