Usual recovery: The roots of wisdom teeth are quite deep and so surgical extraction causes quite a bit of trauma to the gum/jawbone and so some swelling and pain are expected. Since you are getting better and better, i would say that you are experiencing the usual recovery. The gum area may not feel completely normal for quite sometime. Follow up with your dentist/orthodontist... Good luck and happy new year.
