A member asked:

Just caught my toddler chewing on my used monistat applicator 10 hours after i used it. i have high risk hpv. i'm so worried. did i transmit it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Highly unlikely for the hpv virus to be transmitted to your toddler under those circumstances. Hpv-related laryngeal or respiratory papillomatosis does occur but is rare and most often occurs during vaginal delivery to young mothers (under the age of 20) with active condyloma during pregnancy. I would just recommend you bring it to your pediatrician's attention during your next well-child visit.
