Farmers rheumatism: Farmers work long hours, often in tough work conditions. Dust from soil, minerals, cotton and other sources are environmental exposure hazards. Fibers or particles can clog lung tissues and airways. Sometimes the dust includes fungi, fecal matter and other infectious agents. Those of us who eat what farmers produce rarely stop to thank them for their efforts-- so here's to farmers!
