Trouble swallowing: Difficulty in swallowing following wisdom tooth extraction could be from swelling of the tissues as a result of the surgical procedure or an infection. Speak to your dentist immediately and describe your symptoms. If it worsens or you have trouble breathing, seek emergency medical care such as 24\7 medical facility or er of hospital.

A few thoughts..: Inflammation. Pain. Swelling. Sutures. It is a surgical procedure, and it is not uncommon to have any or all of the above listed problems after the extraction. The proximity of the tongue muscles to the wisdom tooth is why these problems contribute to difficulty in swallowing.
