Be careful: Please discuss your question with your treating physician--only he or she knows specifically why you are taking each medication, what other medicines you may be taking, and your medical and surgical history. They are both potentially sedating, as well as each is potentially habit forming. It may be fine, but you need to make sure you are discussing this fully with your physician.

Xanax/codeine: Added sedation is expected. Consult your doctors first.
