Radial keratotomy: Is a type of refractive surgery that was popular in the 1980s and 1990s. It has been largely replaced by lasik and prk, which are both laser types of refractive surgery. It is quite common for the vision to fluctuate in patients who had rk in the past. This is due to the destabilization of the cornea from the incisions which are made during rk.
