A member asked:

Hey docs, should my baby have his bone broken by surgery to repair that grew back with a bow after fracture?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends! Usually ba-: Bies do not require anything done, as their bones can remodel (ie: correct any bowing etc) if a deformity did result from an injury. A rotational deformity may not be fully correctable, or if a growth plate problem occurs, then corrective surgery maybe an option. Generally one waits till the baby is older. See a peadiatric or an ortho trauma surgeon, for an evaluation. Good luck.
