Several possibile: This could be bronchitis due to a viral illness, but if you are really wheezing the best possible thing you could do is to see a doctor asap. Any form of respiratory compromise can worsen abruptly. Get looked at and treated before this occurs. Good luck and happy new year.

Fever and wheezing: Indicates an asthmatic reaction with infectious overlay somewhere is your bronchial tree of lungs. Possible acute bronchitis, allergic reaction with secondary viral or bacterial infection, aspiration pneumonia (epecially from gerd), or any of a number of other conditions. Given the combination, i would recommend you see a doctor esp. If you get night sweats or chills (indicating poss. Pneumonia).
