A member asked:

Is it possible for a single woman to get hiv if she only has intercourse every couple months using a diaphragm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You bet: Single or married, diaphragms may help reduce the incidence of pregnancies, but have absolutely no protection against hiv. Many women now carry condoms so that if their potential partners do not have one they can provide protection and refuse to engage in sex if unprotected. And do not take anybody's word for whether they are HIV infected or have engaged in risky behavior. People lie.
