No problem: Unless the raccoon scratched or bit him. These animals carry the rabies virus.

Rabies risk: Agree with Dr. Lonsdale. Rabies is not transmitted from a raccoon through blood, urine, feces or petting it. It is transmitted by saliva - if an infected raccoon bites you or licks its claw and scratches you.
