A member asked:

Does eating salad leaf harm during thyroid?

Probably not: You don't say what the thyroid problem is. Most salad greens such as iceburg lettuce, romaine, bib, and leaf contain very little iodine. Dark green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, collard greens contain iodine and should be avoided if you need to be on a low iodine diet (before treatment with radioactive iodine). If you are taking thyroid hormone for a low level, you can eat any salad leafs.
