Change: Nightmares are not a common side effect of lisinopril. If you believe that the nightmares are caused by this medication, talk to your doctor to switch to a different medication.

Rarely causes: Insomnia, but since it did, ask your doctor if taking it in the morning would be a better option for you. Best wishes.

Talk to your PCP: Trouble sleeping due to Lisinopril is a rare side effect. There is no restriction to take this medication during the day time. Check with your health care provider if it won't interfere with your other medication schedule. This drug alone will not cure your blood pressure. You need to change your life style (special diet and low impact exercises). Ask your doctor for more information.
