Stretch: Many possibilities: lay on back and having someone slowly stretch your entire leg vertically-maybe piriformis muscle in your buttock needs stretching (look up stretches). Then lay on your stomach and do the same, keeping leg straight, raise knee toward the ceiling-if that hurts, consider your sacro-iliac joint as the source of your pain, and take Ibuprofen if kidney ok, no high blood pressure...

Sciatica: 30's male with unilateral low back ; buttock pain describes sciatica. If acute use rest ; heat. If chronic (more than 2-3 mo) concen for lumbar disk, pyriformis syndrome, sacroiliac joint (sij) disorder, etc. Osteopaths can discern. I have found young males often incur chronic sciatica from extreme sports participation w. Permanent sij injury ; subluxation (occupational disabilities guidelines).
