Everyone gets : Anxious from time to time. An anxiety disorder is diagnosed when someone experiences anxiety most of the time and limits their life due to excessive anxiety when in social situations.

Avoidance, Dread: Shyness is not same as social anxiety. People w/social anxiety repeatedly avoid social situations b/c they dread feeling embarrassed or judged/shamed by others.
