Intensive care: Tetanus is not something that one can treat oneself for. Prevention is far better through vaccination. A person with tetanus needs to be hospitalized asap.

There is no cure: Although there is no cure for the disease it is treated by removing the bacteria from the wound and then treating symptoms of the infection. With early supportive treatment about 10% of cases are fatal.
