Protect it: Not sure exactly what you are describing, but typically an ulnar sided ligament injury around the elbow/upper forearm (assuming no dislocation) can heal without surgery -unless you are a throwing athlete. Hinged elbow brace can protect it while it heals, and you should avoid putting stress on the ligament for minimum 8 weeks. Importantly to keep moving your elbow and forearm to prevent stiffness.
