A member asked:

Could you explain what is a mental hygiene warrant?

Warrant: In general this term refers to authorization for law enforcement to take a person into custody because there is reason to believe he/she is a danger to self/others or otherwise requires immediate mental health attention. Typically it involves an order for a doctor to examine that person (often a psychiatrist). I saw 'in general' because these vary according to region regarding specifics.
