Not necesarily: The coarctation could result in an increase in ventricular forces on ecg, but it would not be obvious. A echocardiagram with a specific study of the aortic branches is the most likely study to pick this up. Diminished pulses in the legs can suggest a coarc in a kid.But kids with longstanding coarcs can have pulses due to well developed collateral circulation.
