Generally this would: Not be associated with any sciatica unless there was an annular tear creating an acute inflammation causing irritation of a nerve root that contributes to the sciatic nerve leading to pain over its distribution into the leg with most resolving but can occasionally lead to a true disc herniation which 90% of the time improve without surgery. Regular exercise, keeping trim ; not smoking are key.
