Depends if you are: Asking about trauma related or just arthritis. If traumatic, then it is a difficult joint to avoid post-traumatic arthritis. If you mean from basic osteo-arthritis, then many things can help get it back to functional pain relief, including steroid injections, prolotherapy, even some prp injections have been shown to be beneficial.
