Herd immunity: Vaccines aren’t 100% effective, which is why 'herd immunity' is so important. By vaccinating everyone, the community is protected, including those who didn't develop adequate immunity after vaccination. When groups of people don't get vaccinated, herd immunity is threatened. In addition, many people are up-to-date on their tetanus boosters (dt), but not on tdap, which prevents pertussis.
