A member asked:

Can you tell me the surgeries applicable for a hole(3-6mm wide) in the heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hole in heart: There are two possibilities for closing the hole, either surgical closure or a device closure. For the surgery there are now minimally invasive approaches in addition to the traditional surgical approach. More importantly see a surgeon and center that does many of your procedure, and don't hesitate to get a second opinion.
