It passes by itself: The chickenpox will emerge and give rise to spots for up to 6-7 days.You have been contagious from a day before the first spot until they all dry, usually a week. It will self heal, but your doc could give you an antiviral medication to reduce the intensity of the breakout. Regardless of medication, you are contagious and need to keep that in mind.
