Micardis (telmisartan) generics: Micardis (telmisartan) is a member of the angiotensin receptor blocker class of anti-hypertensives. Losartan is a member of the same class and is now available as a generic. Another agent of the same class, valosartan, is off patent and is not yet available as a generic alone, however, there is a generic valosartan pill combined with a thiazide diuretic being marketed.
