A member asked:

Could use expert help with why are my hamstrings so sore for so long?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most likely cause is: A pulled muscle or tendonitis of the h'stings. These are flexors of the hip ; knee joints, and commonly get affected in running/jumping activities or during falling. They can take 3-6 months, if not treated, with pain meds initially, but for chronic cases, you need stretching ; strengthening exercises, done regularly, couple of times a day at least, while increasing the reps or/; the intensity.
