Antidepressants : Carry a black box warning about the potential for teens and young adults to develop suicidal thoughts while on antidepressants. One possibility is that if a patient were severely depressed s/he may not have the energy or drive to carry out a suicide. But it they start improving on medications, they may not yet be well, but may have the energy/ drive to carry out the suicide plan.
